    strains against Mark 12:30

Jesus names loving God with all one's heart as the greatest call; a love song can honor a spouse without quietly crowning them as the center of all devotion.

    resonates with Mark 12:30-31

The outro's call to love God and neighbor directly echoes Jesus's summary of the law, a striking turn within an otherwise secular party song.
